Safari won't autofill passwords

Each time a website asks for a password I have to enter my Apple password again to unlock Passwords. This is getting old!

In Safari Prefs I have each of the four choices on Autofill tab checked.

Passwords Are Locked This is a real nuisance. Every time I want Safari to autofill, it says "Passwords Are Locked". This defeats the whole object. If there isn't a way round this I'm moving back to NordPass.........

Disable 'Suggest strong password' on Safari It should be possible to disable the SSP ('Suggest strong Password') feature in Safari AutoFill. The reason is the SSP function is not well designed and doesn't work correctly with all web sites (Barclaycard, for example). Frequently, it attempts to insert a 'strong' password into a site function that is asking for letters from a keyword. I appreciate the motive behind its inclusion, but users need a little more autonomy in this respect. I have my own method of generating individual passwords and don't need any help from Safari to do so. I do need Safari to remember and insert saved passwords and it must be possible to have AutoFill working without the 'Suggest Strong Password' function.

Password not updating in safari I have several websites that I go to frequently and safari has the passwords saved for each of them. Whenever I had to change one safari would ask if it should remember the new password. It no longer does this and now many of my pages load with old passwords. Everything I search for on Google about this says it can be solved by going to opening safari and going to the safari menu. There is no menu in safari. How do I fix this?

Try activating Keychains Access if you haven't already - on all devices.
