Security Risk - Big Sur

Is the recent security risk effecting those using Big Sur or just Monterey?

Does this security risk effect Mac Book Pro users (mid 2014 build)? NB it is not possible to update these models to Monterey.

Is macOS Monterey (12.x) affected by this bug? I can't find any discussion on it. Have an Intel MacBook Pro that can't be upgraded to Ventura and is stuck on Monterey. Security patches were released for both Ventura and Monterey on Jul 24, 2023, at the same time. Since there is not a listed path for Monterey, does this mean Monterey is not affected by CVE-2023-41064?

Monterey 12.7.6 - secure or should I be installing additional security software? I have an early 2015 macbook so the latest OS compatible is Monterey 12.7.6. If this is no longer supported is it secure or should I be installing additional security software? Thanks

Is Big Sur 11.6.8 vulnerable to the latest MAJOR zero day security issues in Webkit!? 8/19/22 Apple just released a patch for what I can understand is a major vulnerability to Monterey and ios devices that support the latest versions of software. Is this security vulnerability also relevant to BIg Sur and Catalina? If it is, will Apple also release the patch/security update? There were two zero day vulnerabilities in Webkit. Some are advising that if you do not update or the updates are no longer supported on your device, that it is unsafe to use older OS or hardware that does not support Monterey. This would mean overnight millions of devices would be no longer safe to use if they cannot be updated. Hopefully it either is irrelevant or Apple is working hard to issue the fixes for Big Sur and Catalina. Are there postings on this somewhere that Apple has issued that would help us get the latest info? I looked but just saw the update for Monterey. It seems that Apple should notify people if they suddenly stop providing security updates for their product. Maybe they have I just don't know where to look. Thanks

Thanks FoxFifth - I thought it was the OS one needed to update, do I take it those running Big Sur are not at risk just those who have already upgraded to Monterey?

That's not an area where I have any expertise, but I do know they made only the Safari update available for Big Sur & Catalina.
