I can't change my macOS profile avatar because, when I do, it reverts back to the old one as soon as I re-open system preferences or lock my machine (anytime I view the avatar again). Here is a video capturing the problem.

One other place you can try, System Preferences > Users & Groups then your admin account. You'll have to unlock the lock of course.
Something else you can try. Boot into Safe Mode then restart normally.

The user image is connected to iCloud. Your change should stick and also propagate to iCloud and your other devices, but for some reason it is not. I suggest you log in to icloud.com in Safari and try to change it there.
Try clicking Apple ID and change it there.
Thank you for replying. Unfortunately icloud.com doesn’t allow you to create a Memoji.
Good idea but that has the same problem, unfortunately.
