What is Authenticator

What is Authenticator? It’s screwing up access to loads of my accounts and I don’t know how to use it or turn it off.

Authenticator can be an app to use with 2 factor authentication. For example, I use google authenticator to generate 2fa keys to access my social media accounts to help keep them safe

How can I get Authenticator 1 on the App Store? Godaddy, my domain's retailer, wants me to use Authenticator 1 to sign in but I can't see it on the App Store.
