Tapping on a word to highlight it, of course, shuts off dictation. I then have to tap the microphone to restart it, and we’re right back where it started.
The problem isn’t just words. There are words it recognizes just fine except in combination.
It hypercorrects. I can speak slowly, one word at a time, and then at the end it will abruptly “correct “ what I said to something I didn’t say; e.g., “the” abruptly becomes “a” or vice versa.
Some words it insists on treating as two (e.g., “dictator ships” vs “dictatorships”). It will put digits in sentences where number words would be more appropriate.
I’d like to teach it proper nouns that it thinks it recognizes but doesn’t, such as personal and place names.
I’m a former radio announcer. I know how to speak clearly in a neutral accent. Enunciation isn’t the problem.
Is there a way to teach the tool dictation that it consistently gets wrong?
