Any way to confirm a call before actually calling it, when you call from you contact list ?

The phone environment should not be for you to be careful. These days, from children to old people use phones.

These environments should be developed, even when you are not careful, the system should keep you away from dialing by mistake.

look at this example,

when you go to your contacts, and call one of them and talk and say goodbye.

You are about to hang up the call and your contact does it a fraction of a second before you.

At that precise moment, you can not stop the inertia of the finger on the way to the red button. Suddenly the dial screen disappears and the contacts screen appears because was in the background, and you call someone else by mistake

is there any way to avoid this ?

I am convinced that this happens thousands of times

I have an iphone 12 promax and believe me, touching above the contact initializes the call, unless there is something in the settings that can be changed, that is what I am looking for

There's no way to stop this behavior. It's been discussed at great length in several other Apple Support Communities threads.

Simply use the side button instead of the hang up button to end the call. Worst case, you lock your iPhone.

It happens when you call from the 'Recents' or 'Favorites' screen- the call dialog will go away if the other person ends the call quicker than you, leaving you to click another person in the list. This isn't a problem if you start from their Contacts page.

At any rate, simply clicking the side button ends the call just fine.

I tried half a dozen times before posting. iPhone 12 standard.

In the list of contacts in the Contacts app, tapping one only opens the contact page for me.

If that contact's page was already open you can't call someone else, and to recall the same person you would have to tap a lot higher than the position of the red button, unless maybe you have banner instead of full page in Settings, phone, incoming calls.

Maybe someone else can fathom it.
