Sign out and remove account from a MAC

I moved out of where I was using a Mac computer and was not able to log out of the device before leaving. How can I sign my apple ID out of that device from my iPhone or windows computer so that no one can log into my account on that Mac.

Like completely delete the account on the Mac, without deleting my apple ID. If I change my apple password will it help?
