I have an iPhone 12, yesterday it did an automatic update which has stopped any electronic SMS. I can still receive messages from family/ friends but not any from banks or service provider. The banks say that their is no issue and my provider say it’s not their issue? Everything worked ok until the update, I have done all the resets, shut downs, removed SIM card etc……

I have tried my SIM card in my old iPhone and it still won’t work, any ideas ?

Hello,

So you can receive iMessages, but not SMS cellular text messages, correct?

Go to Settings > Cellular and make sure that Cellular Data is on. See this:

View or change cellular data settings on iPhone - Apple Support

Also go to Settings > Messages > MMS Messaging. Is it on?

If no help, contact your cellular provider and work with them. Have them send you cellular text messages. Cellular calls still work, correct?

If you can‘t make or receive calls on your iPhone

Good luck.
