Apple TV 4K Picture/Sound Delay?

Hello, so I have the newest Apple TV 4K, a nice AudioQuest HDMI cable, and Sony A95K QD-OLED. The other day I noticed when I clicked on a YouTube video, there was about 4 seconds of a black screen with no sound, and then the video just started playing as if it was playing this whole time. I had missed the first few seconds of that video. I tested it on Netflix, Amazon Prime, and they all had the same issue. I switched HDMI cables, plugged the Apple TV directly to the Sony A95K instead of the Denon receiver, and even did a factory reset on the Apple TV, and made sure everything is updated and connected properly. The same issue happens, on every streaming app and it’s really annoying.

Same issue here, which I brought up in another thread.

I thought it was caused by me and since I had selected the audio output to be PCM the audio was missing at the start of YT videos and Ads.

Then after having the ATV powered off for a few weeks (start of August) the cutting out became both the audio and video. I set the audio back to Dolby D and nothing changed.

Suggested here to disable the Match Frame rate and Match Dymanic range, which stops the cutting out happening. That is a workaround....

BUT

That results in a less perfect picture and manual frame rate selection, which used to work perfectly well a few months ago...

This may be a problem regarding your TV / Apple TV settings.

When the Apple TV is outputting 4K HDR, and if your TV is capable of it, there is usually a delay or black screen for a few seconds on some TVs when switching the dynamic range to the videos' dynamic range.

Try going to Settings > Video and Audio > Match Content and from there, turn off/on "Match Dynamic Range"

If that fails to work, go to Settings > Video and Audio > Format and switch to SDR instead of HDR.

Hope this helps, this happens on ours all the time.
