M1 2020 MacBook Air not offered macOS 12.5

I've seen a lot of talk about the importance of updating Macs to macOS 12.5.1, and while I'd like to, every time I check Software update on my Mac, it say's I'm up to date at macOS Monterey 12.4. I've tried looking around for compatibility lists thinking Apple hasn't made the update available for my model for some reason, but I haven't found anything like that. In fact, I've seen other threads from people with 2020 M1 MacBook Airs reporting issues after updating to 12.5.1. :)

Is there a possible reason my machine is not is not being offered this update?

Try opening the App Store, search for Monterey. 12.5.1 is available there. If you still get the up to date message, try again while in Safe Mode.

There shouldn't be a reason that 12.5.1 is not available. My 2015 MacBook Air is running the latest version.

When you checked for upgrades, did you click the Advanced button? The Advanced button will force a recheck of upgrades available and that may trigger it.

Yeah, I've checked the Advanced options. I've always had it set to automatically check, etc. I'm trying the app store method mentioned by dialabrain, and Software Update has been sitting "Finding Update..." for about 20 minutes now. I'll try the suggested Safe Mode update if this doesn't get anywhere after a while.

Booting into safe mode and installing through the app store worked - thanks for the suggestion! I've never needed to do this before for a macOS update in all my years of updates, but at least this was easy to resolve. :)

Do you have any antivirus apps, vpn or CleanMyMac installed?

I have Express VPN installed and running, but it wasn't connected when I was attempting to resolve this. I suppose it's still possible that it was interfering somehow, though.

FWIW, it is extremely likely. Safe Mode doesn't allow any third-party software to load, including Express VPN.
