Apple Music friend request
Does the person get a notification that you followed them on Apple Music if their profile is public? (Not a private friend request)

Thanks for asking the Apple Support Communities about following friends with Apple Music.
From the info here, it doesn't look like they will get a notification, but they can see who follows them: See what your friends are listening to - Apple Support
"To see the people you’re following and those who follow you, open the profile screen, then swipe up.
If a profile picture has a lock on it, you need to ask that person to follow them. After your request is accepted, you see the person’s shared playlists and the music they’re listening to."
