I lost photo library on MacBook pro OS 10.10.5 please help

I lost photo library on MacBook pro OS 10.10.5. I bought a new MacBook Air I want to transfer the photos several times failed because the version is not right. So I try to upgrade the version then suddenly the photo library is disappeared. Help!
