Is the update to the Printer the source of the issue? Or is the issue that Pages cannot open the old document?

If Pages can open the document, you might try 'printing' the document to PDF, opening the resulting pdf document in Preview, and printing from there.

In pages, proceed to the Print window as usual, then click the PDF button at the bottom left corner of the window, and choose Open PDF in Preview.

Scan through the document in Preview to see that it is all there, then press command-P and proceed as usual with printing.
