Apple Watch won’t turn on

I have had this watch for only a year. When I switched to a newer version of Apple Watch I put this away.

my wife is in need of a watch so I charged it and noticed while charging the logo would come on then go off repeatedly.

after several hours I tried booting the watch and nothing. I attempted a hard reset and again nothing. The only time it does anything at all is when I put it back on the charger
