How to resolve OSStatus error -43

Technologically challenged person trying to free space on my MacBook Pro. My system indicates about 13 GB of documents in unsupported apps. I see a list of 11 32-bit items, but I get the OSStatus error -43 message when I try to delete them. What can I do? Thanks.

that error is file not found.

You should repair your disk Directory using Disk Utility Repair/FirstAid.

on an older MacBook Pro intel before 2018 models you can restart into Safe mode by holding shift at startup. It will do the disk Utility repair as it starts up.

post your MacBook Pro model year and screen size for additional assistance.

That may be what happens if your drive is encrypted. It needs the password to open the drive, before it can proceed to check the drive.

I have enough trouble with drives remembering my data without adding the complexity and un-recoverability of encryption. Yes, I have backups, but I just don't store my most sensitive information on the computer at all.
