Dell printer E525w Not responding and/or get message encryption credentials expired

Seems every time Apple comes out with an update, I lose the ability to connect to my Dell printer wirelessly. I've been able to re-connect in the past, but not this time. Not a high tech person, so if you have a resolve for this issue, please use step by step instructions. MUCH THANKS!

14. Configuring and Printing with AirPrint on the E525w Dell Laser Printers

Setting Up AirPrint

  1. Ensure that the printer is connected to the network.
  2. Launch the Dell Printer Configuration Web Tool by entering the IP address of the printer in your web browser.
  3. In the navigation panel, scroll down to Print Server Settings and click AirPrint.
  4. Click Turn On AirPrint in the Enable AirPrint field. The printer is ready for AirPrint.

NOTE: If the Enable AirPrint check box is not active, it means that both Bonjour (mDNS) and IPP are already set to Enable on the operator panel menu and the printer is ready for AirPrint.

Printing Using AirPrint

  1. Open your email, photo, web page, or document you want to print.
  2. Touch the action icon.
  3. Select your printer driver name and option menu to set up.
  4. Touch the Print button. Print it out.

Configuring and Using AirPrint on Compatible Dell Laser Printers | Dell US

When I choose airprint, I am unable to choose a driver. When I select "auto select" it goes back to "Choose a Driver." When I choose select software, my printer Dell E525w is not listed. I tried to go to Dell.com to download a driver. I can download it, but can not open it to install it. I've never had such a problem before. If I go to Add Printer, the dell printer is listed with Bonjour. If I choose that then the Dell computer is listed. When I try to add, it says " Unable to communicate with printer at this time due to an error." If I choose use "Generic Postscript Printer" it will add the printer. When I try to print is says "looking for printer, connecting to printer" and then says "Printer not responding." I have tried to open a document and print directly from there using control P command. Again "Printer not responding." I am trying to print wirelessly, which I've done for years. Just seems after every Apple update, I have printer issues, but this time it's worse!

I'm thinking you should reinstall it, but...

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode? Could take 10 minutes.

Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.

To find out if it's system wide or user specific, try this...

Open System Preferences>Users & Groups, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.

Does it work in the new account?

Ok, duh.....I cleared my cache & cookies, deleted the printer. Then I restarted my computer and tried adding the printer again. That worked! Thanks for sticking with me and giving me several suggestions. I did not try making a new account.

Thank you very much! I'm up and printing again.
