I bought my wife a new iPad for her birthday but Apple presumed it was for me because in settings I have a “Get ready for your new iPad”. It has been set up successfully (much easier than it used to be, thank you Apple) but the “get ready” is still there and can’t be removed. Any suggestions please? I did ask Apple help, they said I’d would disappear if I updated the OS but it didn’t work..
I sttongly suggest you make another appointment with your nearest, local Apple Store location and have Apple Store Genius bar employees straighten this iPad issue out.
Use the “Get Support” link at the very top right corner of every Apple Support Community Web page to set up the appointment, if needed.

Do not leave the store until the iPad is working properly and as it should with your wife’s own Apple ID and password.

I have no clue why this is happening. Bring your iPad Mini 5 into Apple and have them sort this all out.
Thanks but expensive solution, I live in very rural Wales, nearest store over 2 hours and too much fuel!
