Unable to upgrade to 12.6 on Mac mini running macOS Monterey. When checking for updates it says up-to-date version 12.5. The security update is said to be available and to update ASAP. If it isn't yet out, is there a date on which it will be available?
You are correct Malcolm, it is update 12.5.1. I am unable to update above Version 12.5, because the software update message says "Your Mac is up to date - masOS Monterey 12.5". Just checked again with the same result! Thank you.
I also have this problem. I have a Powerbook 16 inch new late last year. When I go to about this Mac > software update > checking for updates, it says I am on the latest version of Monterey - 12.5. It is not giving the option to upgrade to Monterey 12.5.1. Since this is being toted as a serious security issue - why isn't Apple allowing some Mac computers to upgrade??
EXACTLY! They must be aware of this problem, so maybe it will be resolved in a few days. With mine, I feel it's a possibility there is a conflict with my Mac mini, being that it's operating system is working off the M1 chip.
I'm have an M1 Macbook Pro 14'" (2021), and after updating to 12.5.1 I get:
Your Mac is up to date -- macOS Monterey 12.5.1
However, one day after updating to 12.5.1 I Shut Down my Macbook to clean the screen and the keyboard, and my Macbook kept starting up while attempting to clean the keyboard. I tried Shut Down several times, but my Macbook kept launching the startup screen, so I went about cleaning my Macbook while it was on.
After I was done cleaning my Macbook, I could not log in. I got the reaction that happens when you enter an incorrect password--kind of a shake. I checked the caps lock, etc, and I clicked on Shut Down or ReStart on the login screen several times but after attempting to log in about 15 times, I gave up, and I was resigned to bringing my Macbook into an Apple Store. Then I clicked on Shut Down, and I let my computer sit for about two minutes, then I tried logging in one more time, and I was successful. I have no idea why logging in worked the last time and not the other times.
The security update is 12.5.1 and came out yesterday.
