Disk utility problem
I can't get my disk utility to format anything, it just freezes up. I have a iMac 27 in running Mojave with version 10.14.6 it's a late 2013.

What happens when you attempt to format a drive? Any specific error messages?
What drive or drives are you trying to format? Makes & models?
Try booting into Safe Mode in case you have some third party software installed which is interfering with the normal operation of macOS.
Try disconnecting all other external devices in case one of them is causing a problem. Connect the drive directly to the Mac.
