The Audio Convertor app should be free for basic conversion tasks. There are some additional features that can be paid for but you don't need those. I was able install it and convert a few files last night. Other similar software is available.

FLAC isn't a supported file type, hence the recommendation of a third party solution. FWIW I've just redownloaded a past purchase from Bandcamp in FLAC, then used MediaHuman to convert to ALAC. Works as expected and the converted files will import to Music.

Thank you once again. Although it claims to be a free app, it wants your credit card details. All sounds fishy to me. But thanks for your help.
