turn off Mac keyboard so I can use wireless keyboard.

You don't need to turn off the MacBook Pro keyboard to use a Bluetooth Keyboard. Simply tap the little Apple at the top left of the screen. Tap Keyboard. Tap add a Bluetooth Keyboard.
