Whatsapp and iCloud Backup

Hi, I have an iPhone 12 with 64 GB of storage. In regards to my Whatsapp chats being backed up to iCloud, I had the following concerns/questions:

If my backup of Whatsapp to iCloud is successful does that mean storage on my iPhone will be freed up from the documents/data of Whatsapp? If not, how do I minimize the storage Whatsapp is taking on my phone without deleting any chats/pictures since I'm not willing to lose those.
I've been backing up all chats/media of Whatsapp onto iCloud for as long as I can remember. However, when I switched to a new iPhon somewhere between June and July 2020 none of my media was restored when restoring my Whatsapp backup. All chats were restored but no pictures/videos. Is there any way I could restore that media since I had been backing everything up so it should be on iCloud?
Is there anyway I can see on iCloud everything I've been backing up over the years such as Whatsapp?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much.

For your second question, at the time you could've tried restoring the iCloud backup again and then kept your iPhone connected to power and a strong reliable Wi-Fi network while the restore completed. Since it has been a couple years, your device has most likely made new iCloud backups which have overwritten previous backups.

As for your last question about iCloud, you can view when previous backups were made but not what has been backing up over the years (app wise): View and manage iCloud device backups - Apple Support
