blurry thumbnail photos and photos won't send

My iphone 11 was recently updated. Now at 15.6. Recently noticed when I take a picture and try to send from camera, the picture is blurry and my options for sending all grayed out. Also can't send from photos when this is happening. I get a message saying "preparing...". When this is happening, all my pix in Photos are also blurry and won't send. Have tried every "fix" I've found on line but only thing that works is turning it off and back on again. But it is not a lasting fix. Problem returns same day. Assuming this is related to the update as I haven't changed icloud settings that I know of.

Hi poodlenoir,

We'd like to clarify some information to assist. Are you attempting to send photos via iMessage, SMS/MMS or does the issue occur with both? If needed, the article here can help differentiate: What is the difference between iMessage and SMS/MMS?

Also, navigate to Settings > Messages and ensure "Low Quality Image Mode" is turned off.

When attempting to share is the "share option" section shown in the image here greyed out? Share photos and videos on iPhone - Apple Support

Let us know the details, and we'll continue to assist.

Best.

Hello poodlenoir,

To help resolve this issue, check to see if you have any other photo managing apps installed that could be interfering. If so, make sure you have a backup of your iPhone and delete the app to see if your issue is resolved: Remove apps from iPhone - Apple Support

Remove apps
Do any of the following:
• Remove an app from the Home Screen: Touch and hold the app on the Home Screen, tap Remove App, then tap Remove from Home Screen to keep it in App Library, or tap Delete App to delete it from iPhone.
• Delete an app from App Library and Home Screen: Touch and hold the app in App Library, tap Delete App, then tap Delete. (See Find your apps in App Library.)
If you change your mind, you can redownload apps you’ve removed.

If the issue persists, Contact Apple for support and service.

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities, and have a great day!

Hi and thanks for your reply.

I am always using imessage and have it set accordingly. Low Quality Image Mode is turned off--it may have been turned on at some point but I read that could be a problem and turned it off, but the problem persisted. Yes, the shared option section gets grayed out when this happens.

I did reboot the phone yesterday and so, at the moment, it is working fine. However, I've had to do this almost daily to keep it working over the past week! And I never had this happen before the last upgrade I did.

The other thing that happened in the past month is having to replace my macbook pro for a new macbook Air. They are all synced up for my icloud, so thought maybe that could have something to do with it, but the problem seemed to show up more close in time to allowing my phone to do an upgrade.
