Is there a way to use a 2011 iMac in target display mode with a M2 MacBook Air?

Is there a way to use a 2011 iMac in target display mode with a M2 MacBook Air? Really hoping to put this old iMac to good use.

MacBook Air, macOS 12.4

It's no substitute for TDM but you can still use Screen Sharing: Share the screen of another Mac - Apple Support.


Target Display Mode has very specific and very limited system requirements: Use your iMac as a display with target display mode - Apple Support. Who knows why Apple got rid of it.
