How can I get HomeKit to work with Mesh WiFi?

All the devices in my HomeKit App showed “no response” after I installed a new mesh WiFi system (ASUS ZenWiFi AX) to get a better internet signal everywhere in my house. I had most of my lights, heating and cameras in HomeKit, so it is quite annoying that from now on I will be the only one who can access these remotely in my household. I spent several hours on the Apple support helpline but the outcome was that from now on only Apple TV and HomePod show up in HomeKit, everything else is deleted. When I was told later by a senior Apple technician that HomeKit does not work with mesh WiFi systems, I had to decide to either return to slow Internet upstairs and keep HomeKit or to abandon HomeKit in favour of an excellent WiFi connection. I chose the latter. Hopefully, Apple will one day realise that HomeKit needs to be enabled to connect to a new WiFi SSID that is set up with a mesh WiFi network, It currently looks like HomeKit cannot be put on the same network as the rest of the equipment.

HomeKit works just fine with my Orbi 750 mesh system. So, the "senior Apple technician" is ill informed to say the least.

When you installed the ASUS, did you keep the same SSID and password as your former wifi router? If not, then each device needs to be updated with the new SSID and or password. If you kept the same SSID and password as previously used, I would suggest recycling the devices reporting "no response". (Power off and back on.). If the devices do not even show-up in HomeKit, you need to set them up from scratch again. There is absolutely no reason why a HomeKit device cannot be used with your Mesh system.
