Series 4 Apple Watch black face won’t turn on or charge

Have series 4 Apple Watch - started a open water swim last night and it went black before 10 minutes in - can’t get it to start or charge or anything?

Sounds like it might be water damage,probably best to have it checked out at an Apple store.
