I'm trying to connect my MacBook to send and receive messages from my phone number connected to my iPhone but right now my MacBook is only sending and receiving from my Apple ID address. When I go to iMessage preferences on my MacBook it only shows my email as a possible send and receiving possibility.

if I change my iPhone to use my Apple ID for iMessage will it allow me to change back to my phone number
