Is there a method to have iPhones not receive text messages?

Ask your cellular carrier to disable SMS and MMS messaging on your account. Not that this means FaceTime and iMessage also won’t work because they use SMS to communicate with Apple’s servers.

There is no setting on the phone to turn messages off entirely.
