Logic Board replacement on 2020 Macbook Air

Hi, have seen a few people asking similar questions and want to check on best course of action. Bought daughter a new macbook air to replace a stolen one back in October 2020. Laptop broke a month ago, initially thought it was a battery issue, but have now been told it is a logic board and could cost up to £500 to replace as the laptop is not under warranty. Have seen a few people saying Apple will replace for free under consumer rights laws. Any advise on best approach, don't want to have to pay out another £500 less than two years after buying it. Thanks.

Hello JonMolly,

We know you mentioned that you were told the problem is related to the logic board. The best place to find out if this is covered by Consumer Law would be Apple directly. They can review your device warranty and based on your region, advise you from there.

You’ll want to reach out to the Apple Support number that is most local to your region, to further assist with this issue. You can find that number here: Contact Apple for support and service - Apple Support.

Kind regards!
