imovie audio video sync

I have a corrupted video file that has been recovered by a recovery service off an sd card. However, the audio and video are not quite in sync. I loaded the file into imovie, detached the audio, not sure what to do next, would love some advice. Thank you very much.

First, see if you can slide the the audio clip slightly left or right to bring it in sync. Easiest if you expand out your timeline before trying to sync. (See below).

Control-click on the audio clip and choose Show Speed Editor from the pop-up menu. That will reveal a speed adjustment handle in the upper right hand corner of the audio clip. Move the speed handle a tiny bit to the left to slightly speed up the clip, and to the right to slightly slow up the clip. Adjust as necessary to bring it in sync. The procedure works best if you first expand out your timeline with the slider located next to the Settings button above and to the right or the timeline. If you don't want to mess with the audio clip you can do the same procedure to the video clip, slightly slowing or speeding it up to bring it in sync.
