Numbers column A, stop it sliding to the left

Column A keeps on sliding under the numbers to the left. Is there a way to stop this, so that it is always visible and not having a part under the numbers to the left?

I have tried solutions, from here and elsewhere e.g. table > header and footer > freeze rows/columns it it still does. Is this a feature of Numbers on iPad?

Yeah I tried that before with the add, remove or freeze rows and columns

Right now, about 20% of column A us under the numbers to the left - this is with Freeze Columns on. When I pull away to the right, column A is fully visible, when I let go it goes back to how it was.

If I then increase Header Columns this problem shifted along the columns e.g. Head Column value is now 2, this now means that some of column C is under column B.

It's only on this chart that this happens. It's been happening a while, but I always thought I'd sort it one day (like now) - as the chart is for the year so probably a few months ago .

Thanks

Hello ekaton,

Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.

Did you attempt to Freeze the columns?

"Add, remove, or freeze header rows and columns

Adding header rows, header columns, or footer rows converts existing rows or columns into headers or footers. For example, if you have data in the first row of a table and you add a header row, the first row is converted to a header row that contains the same data.

You can freeze header rows or columns so they’re always visible as you scroll the spreadsheet.

  1. Tap the table, tap the Format button, tap Table, then tap Headers & Footer.
  2. Do any of the following:
    • Add or delete headers and footers: Tap the Adjustable button next to a header or footer category.
    • Freeze header rows or columns: Turn Freeze Rows or Freeze Columns on or off."

More details can be found here: Add or remove rows and columns in Numbers on iPad

If the issue persists, can you provide a few more details? Which iPadOS version are you currently using? Also, when did you first notice this?

Good Luck!

ekaton,

Got it. Sounds like you've done a lot of good troubleshooting steps so far.

Since you mentioned that it was only happening with this one document, it's possible that it's something within the settings of this one item.

If you do see it in other documents within Numbers, it would be good to see if this happens in safe mode as well: How to use safe mode on your Mac Completing this steps allows you to determine if this issue is user based or system wide.

Let us know how that goes and we'll continue from here.

Take care!
