Retrieve Contacts without icloud

Hi!

Today, I lost all of my contacts on my phone. I do not have my contacts backed up to iCloud. I think I lost them through the mail app on my phone. Under the iPhone settings, I went to "mail-->accounts, Gmail--> contacts, and I accidentally turned my contacts off. After that, I noticed that all my contacts on my phone were gone. I tried going on youtube for help, but none of the suggestions helped. Does anybody have any tips/advice that I can try? Thank you!

Unless you have a backup you made before you erased the contacts there is nothing you can do. I dont think something else happened. You clearly described what happened. I was just offering some addition options.

Did you recently remove an email account? add it back and the contacts should be there. Do you have a backup on your device you can restore from? I created this User Tip to help manage restore contacts - Contacts (I know you said without iCloud but once you get your contacts back (if you can) performing the steps in my User Tip will help you prevent the loss of them again.

Did you try turning that Contacts switch in Mail > Accounts > Gmail back on?

Yes, I turned it back on, and nothing was there.

Thank you for the help. I also tried that, but it didn't work. Do you. think that there was something else that happened? I also tried restarting my phone.
