phone, pad, Mac

Incoming messages show on my phone, but not necessarily on either the Mac or the Pad. Likewise, messages I send from iMessage don't always show on the other two devices.

What are the settings on the Phone, the Pad and the Mac that allow iMessage to show on all of my devices?
