using my Apple ID for a new I-Pad

I have had two e-mail messages on my phone and on my iMac, both saying that I signed into a new i-Pad with my Apple ID. I don't have a new i-Pad. How can I find out if someone else is using my Apple ID? And how can they??

Check your Apple ID device list to see where you're signed in - Apple Support

See information about devices signed in with your Apple ID on iCloud.com - Apple Support

If you think your Apple ID has been compromised - Apple Support

Thank you so much! It is an easy "fix". I appreciate your speedy answer to me: someone who doesn't know very much!! I see that my Apple ID has no new iPad listed. That message was either weird or someone trying to spam me. But everything is good.
