Don't understand the Mac explanations - I have a Late 2013 iMac 21.5 inch 8gb 1600 intel iris pro 1536 mb on CatalIna 10.15.7, CAN I USE IT AS A MONITOR/DISPLAY FROM A NEW MACMINI?

If your new MacMini is an M1 MacMini, then no.
It can. be used from a 2018 Mac Mini or earlier that is running Catalina or earlier.

- The iMac used as a display must have macOS High Sierra or earlier installed.
- The other Mac that you're connecting it to must have been introduced in 2019 or earlier and have macOS Catalina or earlier installed.
