Hi I have had a new sim and my number ported across (3) my phone will not save the number, it works in my old phone but not on this iPhone pro 12 max i have tried the following:
rebooted phone 10 times
reset network settings 4 times
many ideas ?

Setting your iPhone back to factory settings with the new SIM inserted will also register your phone number in the correct places, plus update the carrier settings, if necessary.
This cannot be the answer every time there is a issue with a iPhone…?
Do this after every change of phone number including you temporary number and when the proper number comes through.
Settings, Messages, Turn off iMessage
Settings, Face Time, Turn off Face Time
Restart the phone.
Settings, Messages, Turn on iMessage, SMS, MMS
Settings, Face Time, Turn on Face Time
Restoring the phone to factory settings will make sure, that a complete, new iOS system will be downloaded and installed.
That way you can be sure, that the issue is not software related and all settings are set automatically, including your phone number for various Apple services.
And you will be notified on your phone, that the phone number is now being used on this device.
