All 500 iPhone Safari Tabs Disappeared!

I’ve been busy and hadn’t had a chance to backup my open Safari tabs in awhile. I apparently reached the point where because I had the max 500 open tabs, Safari informed me that I was unable to open any more. Yet instead of providing me an option to close a few tabs in order to open another, it instead closed all 500 of them with warning.

Many of these tabs were important since I was doing research for work projects. I searched online for a way to recover these but am finding no solution. I find it ridiculous that Apple seemingly provides no way to do this, especially since I never accepted to closing them. This has cost me a huge inconvenience since I have no way of knowing how to find all of these websites again. Please let me know if there’s a solution that I’m unaware of. Thanks.

P.S. I’m aware of the long-press of the “+” in Safari as a way to display recently closed tabs, but this list of pages is limited and requires a tedious opening of one at a time.

Thank you for the reply and trying to help. I assume by “press on the bottom square” you’re referring to the icon on the bottom right, showing two squares (one overlaying another). When I long press that icon all I see is what’s shown in the attached screenshot. There’s no option to recover recently closed tabs.

While I understand Apple’s decision to place a limitation on how many opened tabs there can be, and that I should be backing up my opened tabs periodically and should be limiting how many tabs I have opened at once, I still find the inability to recover closed tabs a very odd and highly inconvenient oversight. Especially considering how many iPhone users have complained of their browser tabs closing without their consent.

If anyone knows of any other solutions please do share. I checked my iCloud but saw no backed up Safari options. Thank you.
