Two Studio Displays + Mac Mini

I have two new Apple Studio Displays and can’t get dual monitors to work on my new Mac Mini.

Can’t connect both via Thunderbolt (seems like a flaw) and can’t get it to work connecting one via Thunderbolt and one HDMI to USB-C.

Any suggestions? Chat and phone support says it can’t be done.

Hi, ThemysciraCap, the following link should help clarify your situation… Connect a display to Mac mini - Apple Support (CA)

So… to sum up, you get 2 max xtrernal

monitors… one over Thunderbolt 3 and one over HDMI 2.0 ( with HDCP 2.2 support).. both Apple Studio Monitors ( very very nice monitors… and you have 2 of them?!? Wow.. color me impressed… will do Thunderbolt 3 via USB-C and that’s it… so you’d need a Thunderbolt 3 Active dock that’ll pass video thru… and works with your M1 Mac Mini… No, it doesn’t look like Apple has made/released an m2 Mac Mini or M1 Ultra/M1 Max mac mini, so M1 is what’cha got… OWC ( macsales.com) makes one that looks like it should play nicely with your M1 Mac Mini… Elgato ? Caldigit makes one, but it’s doesn’t play nicely with M1 mac mini.. at least in terms of video… there could be others… my crystal ball has gone dark…

Yes, I upgraded everything for my birthday this year. But the joke's on me because the Mac Mini doesn't support two of these great displays.

I had another guy tell me I just got the wrong HDMI cable and that I need a HDMI output -> USB-C input cable to make this work.

I guess I'm hesitant to spend another $200 - $300 on a dock if I just need a different HDMI cable to connect the 2nd display.
