Intro to syncing your Mac and your devices - Apple Support
iCloud.com shows the same information as your iCloud Account, they are both the same thing.
To understand a bit further, can you explain what actions you took to setup the new system, and what isn't working?
Also, you mentioned you aren't getting any emails on your computer. Make sure you have the email account setup on that device! Add an email account to Mail on your Mac - Apple Support
Thanks!

Sign in with your Apple ID: Your Apple ID consists of an email address and a password. It’s the account you use for everything you do with Apple—including using the App Store, Apple TV app, Apple Books, iCloud, Messages, and more. It’s best to have your own Apple ID and not share it. If you don’t already have an Apple ID, you can create one during setup (it’s free). Sign in with the same Apple ID to use any Apple service, on any device.

I am not asking about "iCloud", I am asking about "iCloud.com". I have set up that new system and nothing works now. Worst, filled out forms from my websites that are directed at an e-mail address on my computer don't arrive anymore. That's why I want to go back to where it was before.
I had to set up an icloud.com account with "(personalized)@icloud.com". I assume that is some container that holds all e-mail accounts and whatever else gets synced. Unfortunately e-mails (I have about 15 e-mail accounts) don't sync anymore. And this container seems to block submitted forms from my website (i.e., I'm loosing business because of that) So I want to get rid of this "@icloud.com" thing and back to normal. Is that possible?
It's not about setting up an Apple ID (I got my first Mac in 1986 and am very familiar with how they work). It's about the "@icloud.com" account not working and blocking incoming mails. I need to get rid of that and can't see a way to do that.
Thanks muguy. That solved it.
The way I read the instruction suggested this to be a container for all existing accounts on the mac and that those are transferred to the devices withing that container so that there's no need for individual accounts on the devices. So I deleted them. After setting them up again the whole thing works as intended.
No, it's an independent email address, not a "container" for your email accounts. Be sure that you have your email accounts setup on your device(s) to sync messages.
Well it worked briefly and then it erased all e-mails on all devices without a chance to recover them, thanks Apple.
