Separate midi track by note pitch hi hat issue

Hi,

I created a drummer track and converted it to MIDI. I want to separate out the notes by note pitch so I can mix the stems properly. I have used the separate by note pitch function but the hi hat track sounds wrong. I think it is playing open hats all the time instead of closed. How can I separate out the notes and keep them sounding exactly the same? thanks

Thanks for the response. I tried to move them but the resulting MIDI tracks you get after splitting by MIDI regions isn't a full drum kit. It just has hi hats at different pitches. I could create a whole new drum kit and copy the hats in but it feels like a time consuming way to do it with lots of risk of error if I do it that way for every track.

No worries. Could you outline the sequence of your actions before this issue took place? What's the version of Logic and what were the settings / preset loaded for the Drummer before you split the region by pitch value?

What I think might be happening is that the issue could be in the instrument itself (i.e. the sound source). So, an apparent solution may be to try tweaking the software instrument, not the MIDI notes themselves.

It's crazy! Glad to see someone else is having this exact issue. I'm sending my MIDI tracks to a collaborator and he is hearing a bunch of "open" hat sounds where I hear "closed". If I can't find a simple solution I'm going to cut all the Bb MIDI notes that are making a "closed" hat sound on my system, (but are making an "open" hat sound on his system) and then paste them into a new track with a new sampler that contains that hat sample, then tune it to the same pitch as it was in the first Drum Kit Designer track. Entirely a "Drummer Track" conversion to MIDI issue, and Drum Kit Designer won't let me in "under the hood" to fix inside the sampler. Pain in the neck.

Grateful for any help.

Hi there, just a hunch, but I think this might have something to do with note articulations. Exporting a Drummer track as MIDI somehow messes them up. So, perhaps, one could try fixing this issue by editing articulations: right-click on the note(s) and try selecting different articulations (if they are available, of course). Cheers!
