.How to delete a contact name & tele number that pops up that is not even in the contact app?
- A name and tele no keeps popping up in my iMessage app on Mac desktop Monterey v 12.5 when I click on telephone numbers to create a new message. I don't want this old contact in my pop-up list anymore.
- The name and tele # of that person is not found in my contact app so there is no one to delete. I can find no "i" next to the name or ^ to edit/delete.
- The name and tele # of that person is also not found in my contact app on my iPhone Pro 12 nor my iPad; however, when I send messages on the phone and iPad, that contact name and tele # do not pop up. The problem is only on my Mac.
- Where is the source of this tele contact and number coming from on my Mac so I can delete it forever, so it stops popping up please?
- I went to icloud.com to see if the contact was found there and it is not. I turned the iCloud on and off to synch hoping it would leave that number out. No result.
- I contacted a support person and we lost contact but not before I was instructed to create a dummy user on shared users and told to sign into a new iMessage account in which case that number did not come up when I tried iMessages. Not sure what the point of that was and I lost a connection so I thought I would try here first.
- Can't locate anyone else with this issue and it doesn't seem to be a simple matter of just deleting a contact--it does not even show as existing in my Contact list.
- Thanks.
