.How to delete a contact name & tele number that pops up that is not even in the contact app?

5. I went to icloud.com to see if the contact was found there and it is not. I turned the iCloud on and off to synch hoping it would leave that number out. No result.

I contacted a support person and we lost contact but not before I was instructed to create a dummy user on shared users and told to sign into a new iMessage account in which case that number did not come up when I tried iMessages. Not sure what the point of that was and I lost a connection so I thought I would try here first.

7. Can't locate anyone else with this issue and it doesn't seem to be a simple matter of just deleting a contact--it does not even show as existing in my Contact list.

Well I don't know if it is related or not—

from the Mail.app —you can see if the Contact is in the Previous Recipient list— if so delete it here:

Mail>Window>Previous Recipient
