i would like to connect my iphone to itunes but it says i shoud provide a passcode first

Turn the phone off before connecting to the computer and hold down the home button while connecting to the computer and continue holding until the recovery screen appears. No passcode is needed. See the full instructions in If you forgot your iPhone passcode - Apple Support
