BDAqua, thanks for the reply. So I have all the requirements that you mention. I get the message that first i need 10.13 in order to update, apparently now to 10.13.6 . Remember this is a neanderthal typing. As I said i am running OS 10.11.6
Órale, this neoneandrethal is launched, soaring the High Sierras! The view is fantastistico! Now i can fully deploy my security settings whereas El Capitan prevented my access to so many websites that I lowered the security threshold to try a workaround. So I say Bravo to BDAqua for the guidance.
