iCloud link uploading pictures instead of videos

Hello! I tried to share some videos and photos through the "copy iCloud link" option and when opening the link, the videos I originally shared do not share as videos. Instead, in the link, it shared as a photo of the first frame of the video.

For context, I have never had this issue with iCloud links before, however, this is the first time I'm sharing many videos at once (around 50). However, I knew storage might be an issue (this is concert footage) so I deleted my entire camera roll the day before after saving it somewhere else and the content I wanted to share is basically the only items on my camera roll.

The first screenshot is from my phone where the original file is a video, and the second is from opening the link on my laptop.

How do I resolve this?

Windows, Windows 10

Hello pnahk,

Being able to share photos and videos via an iCloud Link is a great feature, and it sounds like you're following the steps in the article below to do so.

Share photos and videos with an iCloud Link on iCloud.com

From the circle that appears in the. bottom-right corner of the video, it looks as though it may be loading. What happens if you share only one video via an iCloud link versus multiple videos? Does it play as expected? Also, does this happen if you try to open the link on a different device?

We look forward to your response!

It would be better to cancel the first link, and set this up again.

Try with the steps provided in the article above, here it is again for reference: Share photos and videos with an iCloud Link on iCloud.com - Apple Support

If a new link doesn't work still, see if sharing to someone else has a different result. This would indicate the link works, and the issue is on the receiver side.

Thanks.
