iCloud email on my pc

Years ago, it was very easy to download iCloud which had email for my mac.com email address On my PC. Today I’ve spent two hours trying to figure out how to get email on my PC. Can someone give me a step-by-step guidance on how to do that? I tried the iCloud app and I tried Outlook. Neither worked.

Have you tried this? Set up iCloud Mail, Contacts, and Calendar in Outlook on your Windows computer - Apple Support
