Can’t ping AitPort Time Capsule from internet

For example my ip is 1.2.3.4

I run command on my mac to ping it (ping 1.2.3.4) but all packets fails

But I can ping it in local network

Can enabled NAT-PMP be reason of this?

It's tricky.

To access the Time Capsule from the Internet, you need to have a simple modem.......the kind with only one Ethernet port......and the Time Capsule must be set up as the "main" router on the network.

In addition, you will need a Static Public IP Address assigned to the modem from your provider. That may mean a business level account to get the required Static Public IP Address that you will need.

In addition, you must set up Port Mapping using AirPort Utility on the Time Capsule. Something like this, for example:

So, the first two questions would be.......

1) Do you have a simple modem?

2) Does your ISP provide a Static Public IP Address to the modem?

When you run this ping, where is your computer located ... on the local network, or at a remote location?

NAT-PMP is designed to allow an app, running on a computer on the local network, to open ports on the local router.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish?
