Children unable to access my itunes

I’ve given both my daughters an old iPhone mainly for apps and music (no SIM card). I’ve set up family sharing, they both have an Apple ID, they are able to download my purchased apps but not music. When I go to iTunes on their phones I expected to see an option to see shared or purchased info. The instructions said if home sharing is ticked my tunes should appear in the library. I didn’t think I’d missed a step but I must have. Can anyone help me?

Hello NJBlayney,

To have the other members of the Family Sharing group download the purchased songs to their device they may follow the steps here: Download family members’ purchases on iPhone

We've also listed the steps from the page here:

Download shared purchases from the iTunes Store
1. Open the iTunes Store , tap More, then tap Purchased.
2. Choose a family member.
3. Tap a category (for example, Music), tap a purchased item, then tap the Download button.

Regarding Home Sharing, this will be a different feature that shares media from a computer to other devices on the network. However, this would require each device uses the same Apple ID. This page helps to go over this feature for some info on it: Use Home Sharing to share media from a computer to other devices

Cheers.
