Can't see the device Sony WF-1000XM4 after pairing them to my Mac Pro

I am able to pair and connect my Sony WF-1000XM4 to my Mac Pro on High Sierre 10.13.6. But I don't get any sound over it because I can't see the device Sony WF-1000XM4 after pairing them to my Mac Pro so I can't choose to select the sound output over it.

Please help, thank you!

Mac Pro, macOS 10.13

Can I assume that these appear in the Bluetooth Preferences as connected? Do they appear and are selectable in your Sound Preferences Input tab, and did you select them there with mute off?

Do you have Sony's Headphones Connect app on an iPhone or Android to determine if your headset firmware is current?

I have the WF-1000XM4 headset but only pair them with my iPhone 13 Pro Max (for long walks), or my Nokia N9. I use my WH-1000XM4 headphones with my M1 mini (11.6.8), 16-in MBP M1 Pro (12.5), or 2020 iMac (12.5), where all pair automatically.

Yes

No

Yes. The buds are two months old but I upgraded my firmware twice since. It is uptodate.

Good to hear you have them too. My Mac Pro is mid 2010 but I guess that should not make any difference. I already paired other devices with no problem yet with it. And the buds pair with everything else seamlessly - with my Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ and with my Windows 10 PC.

Thanks already for your answer. How can we find a solution?
