iBooks won’t let me finish

I bought and downloaded a book on iBooks and it won’t let me read last the 3rd chapter. I paid for the book how come I can’t read it?

It lets me read to the fourth chapter and then stops and there’s 14 chapters I think.

This book cannot be opened because required software cannot be downloaded. I've been with various levels of Apple Support on this throughout the morning. I have one book of many that I get the message, "This book cannot be opened because required software cannot be downloaded." Support reps have had me update to Ventura 13.2; reboot in the safe mode; sign off and on with my Apple ID and password. The last person read the above message on the screen share session and suggest I "Google it" to find out what software is required. It seems to me that if you buy and download a book from Apple Books; then it should open on your computer. This is a $30+ book. Any suggestions? Chris

Delete the book and download it again.
