Why isn't the saltillo character supported in Apple Unicode on iPhones?

You can get proper display on a web page on an iPhone if the right web font is used by the webpage maker.

Do you really see space characters there? I think the problem may be that many fonts make this character too wide. Noto Sans probably does it right. Unfortunately on an iPhone there are very few places where you can choose the font, such as Pages.

In any case, Apple has to fix this, so let them know via the feedback channel.
